Privacy Policy

This policy explains how HaramMute handles information for the browser extension, Android app, and cloud audio processing service.

Information we collect

  • Your email address, used for account access, subscription checks, support, and account recovery.
  • YouTube or video links you choose to process, plus processing job records and generated clean-audio files needed to provide the service.
  • Subscription information from Polar or Google Play, including purchase tokens when needed to verify access.
  • App settings stored on your device, such as your signed-in email and recent videos.
  • On mobile, limited app-interaction analytics—such as onboarding choices, processing outcomes, quota or paywall views, sign-in outcomes, and purchase or restore outcomes—plus app version, platform, service environment, and a randomly generated app-install identifier.
  • Mobile analytics do not include your email, video links, API keys, purchase tokens, Advertising ID, hardware identifiers, location, or session recordings.
  • Website pageviews and store-download clicks: platform, button placement, page language, referrer hostname and bounded campaign tags. A random identifier links clicks to one page load only; it is not an account or persistent visitor identifier. We do not store full referring URLs, IP addresses or session recordings in this landing analytics dataset.

How we use information

  • Process the videos you choose and play them with background music removed.
  • Verify paid access, restore subscriptions, prevent abuse, debug problems, and provide support.
  • Previously submitted launch-list emails may receive product updates and HaramMute marketing emails. You can unsubscribe from these emails.

Service providers

  • Google Play Billing and Polar for subscription payments and access checks.
  • Modal and storage/cache providers for audio processing and job delivery.
  • PostHog for limited mobile app-interaction analytics, configured without automatic interaction capture, session recordings, or person profiles.
  • Error-monitoring, email, and support providers where configured to operate and improve HaramMute.
  • Cloudflare for website hosting and limited landing-page analytics; Google Forms/Google Sheets for previously submitted launch-list emails.

Retention and deletion

  • Local app data remains on your device until you sign out, clear recents, uninstall the app, or clear app data.
  • Processing job records and generated audio files are usually deleted after about 24 hours unless retained by cache policy or needed for support or security.
  • Billing, tax, legal, security, and support records may be retained as required.
  • Landing analytics events are retained for up to 90 days, with expired records removed during subsequent event ingestion. Previously submitted launch-list entries are kept until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed at [email protected].
  • You can request account or data deletion at haram-mute.com/delete-account or by emailing [email protected].

Security and permissions

  • Production app traffic to HaramMute services uses HTTPS.
  • Android cloud backup is disabled for the app so local session data is not copied into Android backup.
  • The Android app uses Internet access, notifications, foreground media playback, and wake lock for its core video and background-playback features.
  • The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts, location, calendar, SMS, call log, photos, or broad device file access.
  • HaramMute does not use mobile analytics for advertising and does not include an ads SDK.
